January Worship Sets
Communicating with God part 2-Sunday January 25, 2015
Worship Scripture: John 1:1
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
Standing on the Promises (Russel K. Carter, 1886, Public Domain)
Last week we talked about communicating with God through prayer. How are we supposed to know His will for us if we do not communicate with Him? How do we know what to pray and what His answers are? We have this wonderful thing called the Bible, the word of God.
John 1:1- “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
Pray to invite the spirit and that it would open the eyes of our hearts to the power of God’s word.
Word of God Speak (Bart Millard, Pete Kipley, 2002)
Open the Eyes of My Heart (Paul Baloche, 1997)
Ancient Words (Lynn DeShazo, 2001)
Thy Word (Amy Grant, Michael W. Smith, 1984)
We have a mighty awesome God. Amen.
Our God is good, His word is true, and His mercy endures forever!
You are Good (Israel Houghton, 2001)

Communicating with God part 1-Sunday January 18, 2015
Worship Scripture: Jeremiah 29:13 NIV
“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart”
The last couple weeks we’ve been talking about doing what God wants you to do and growing in your relationship with Christ by surrendering those things he wants to prune out of your life. How do we know what these things are, and what God wants us to do? It’s all about communication.
It takes completely focusing on God, seeking Him with all your heart. Taking the time, whether it’s early in the morning, midday, or late at night, finding a secret, quiet place where you can concentrate solely on the almighty. Where you can seek him with all your heart in that sweet hour of prayer

Growing in Christ-Sunday January 11, 2015
Worship Scripture: John 15:2 New International Version (NIV)
2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful.
Are you a green thumb? How about a brown thumb? Do plants have a restraining order against you? Not all of us are masters at helping plants develop to their fullness. Some of us are so bad that we actually hinder plants to the point of death.
From Stephen Smarowsky
Baptist, Pastor/Minister
Every branch that bears fruit must be pruned to bear much more fruit.
We must allow God to prune the wilted friends, habits, thoughts, and possessions out of our lives. By allowing this to happen, we will grow stronger and bear more fruit for the Kingdom of God. We will not only add to the Kingdom in quantity, but also in quality. The fruit we bear will be much more pleasing to God. Like David did, ask God to search your heart of any offense. David wrote, “Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties; And see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting” (Psalm 139:23-24).
Worship Leader: Are we asking God what needs pruned in us so that we can bear the most fruit? Are we surrendering those things to Him? Ask God to search you this morning, to reveal what needs to be pruned by you or Him, and for the strength to surrender that to Him.

Using Your Gifts-Sunday January 4, 2015
Worship Scripture: Romans 12:6-8 New International Version (NIV)
6 We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us. If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; 7 if it is serving, then serve; if it is teaching, then teach; 8 if it is to encourage, then give encouragement; if it is giving, then give generously; if it is to lead, do it diligently; if it is to show mercy, do it cheerfully.”
Rise (Kari Jobe, Matt Bronleewe, 2012)
Build Your Kingdom Here (Rend Collective, 2011)
He Leadeth Me, O Blessed Thought (Joseph Gilmore, William Bradbury, 1800s- Public Domain)
Beneath the Waters (I Will Rise) (Brooke Ligertwood, Scott Ligertwood, 2011)
Worship Leader: “Typically every new year you will hear someone speak of having a fresh start, a new opportunity to become a better person or to better your life in some way. These are good things, but let us first reflect on the things God has given us. [Time of reflection]
Aunt Betsy was a great woman who recently passed away. One thing that I remember her saying was, “If God gives you something, you should do something with it.”
One thing about God, He may give us all different gifts and talents, but He does give everyone, yes every person in here, something to use to glorify His name. What has God given you? What are you doing with it?
Freely, Freely (Carol Owens, 1972)
